About
Art on the Concourse is Fordham Bedford’s community arts program and annual exhibition-fundraiser organized by Concourse House, Home for Women and Their Children, Fordham Bedford Community Services (FBCS) and Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation (FBHC). Founded in 1980 by community residents and activists at a time when the neighborhood and borough was in crisis, Fordham Bedford’s mission is to provide safe and affordable housing for families, single mothers, and seniors within the Northwest Bronx.
Fordham Bedford’s year-round community arts programs provide a space and support for our community of diverse artists. Our arts programs encourage creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, care for each other and visibility to our communities. We integrate art into our building, educational and recreational services. We organize exhibitions, partner with Bronx based artists and nurture talented artists within our community.
Fordham Bedford’s annual Art on the Concourse fundraiser, engages a community of sponsors, partners and supporters to help our residents bring creative projects and educational services to life. In 2020, to mark our 40th anniversary of Fordham Bedford, we organized a neighborhood art walk which we will continue to expand on.
